The Legal Rooms ("TLR") Privacy Policy

 

Protecting your privacy is our priority. Therefore, by accessing this platform, users acknowledge and agree to the following privacy policy, including its confidentiality policy, data protection and security policy and cookie usage policy:

 

 

I-             Confidentiality Policy

 

Legal Consultants and Clients agree that neither The Legal Rooms or its affiliates will be liable for any disclosure or dissemination of Confidential Information or the breach of any of the obligations in the Agreement.

This Non-Disclosure Agreement (this "Agreement” or this "Non-Disclosure Agreement”) is made between the Legal Consultant and the Client (both referred to as the "Parties”) who agree, by using The Legal Rooms platform, to be mutually bound by this Agreement.

Whereas, through this Non-Disclosure Agreement, the Disclosing Party and Receiving Party have entered into a relationship by which the Receiving Party may be exposed to certain confidential Information of the Disclosing Party, in which it has an interest in protecting.

Now, therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises made by the Parties hereto, the Parties covenant and agree as follows:

1.      Definitions

"Confidential Information” means any information, whether in written, visual, oral, electronic or other form, furnished by either Party to the other Party under this Agreement. Such Confidential Information may include, without limitation, personal information, trade secrets, know-how, inventions, technical data or specifications, other data, testing methods, business or financial information, concepts, models, whether or not protectable by patent, copyright or other laws, research and development activities, product and marketing plans, and customer and supplier information.

"Disclosing Party” means the party disclosing Confidential Information to the other party.

"Receiving Party” means the party receiving Confidential Information from the other party.

2.      Non-Disclosure of Confidential Information

Except as required to further the relationship between Disclosing Party and Receiving Party or as expressly authorised in writing on behalf of the Disclosing Party, Receiving Party shall not disclose, directly or indirectly, any Confidential Information during the period of the relationship or any time after the termination of such relationship.

3.      Use/Safe-guarding of Confidential Information

Receiving Party shall not use the Disclosing Party’s Confidential Information for any purpose other than to exercise or perform its rights or obligations under this Agreement. Receiving Party shall not copy or otherwise reproduce Disclosing Party’s confidential Information, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of disclosing Party. Receiving Party further agrees that it shall safeguard Disclosing Party’s Confidential Information from disclosure and, at a minimum, use efforts commensurate with those receiving Party employs for protecting the confidentiality of its own Confidential Information which it does not disclose or disseminate, but in no event less than reasonable care. 

4.      Exceptions

The provisions of the section 2 above will not be deemed to prohibit any disclosure that is required by law or court order and any information which is or in future comes into the public domain. However, the Receiving Party agrees to provide the Disclosing Party with reasonable prior notice and an opportunity to consent or minimise such disclosure.

5.      Return and deletion of documents

Immediately upon termination of the relationship between users, Receiving Party shall delete, and when applicable, return to Disclosing Party any documents pertaining to the Confidential Information which are in Receiving Party’s possession.

Protecting your private information is our priority. That’s why we treat any data that relates to an identified or identifiable individual or that is linked or linkable to them by TLR as "personal data,” no matter where the individual lives. This means that data that directly identifies you, such as your name, is personal data, and also data that does not directly identify you, but that can reasonably be used to identify you, such as the IP address, is personal data.

This Privacy Policy covers how TLR handles personal data when you use our website.

 

Your Privacy Rights at TLR

• Personal Data TLR Receives from Other Sources: In the event that you connect to our services using other sources features made available to you, TLR will have access to some of the data (including, but not limited to, your first name, last name, photograph, email address etc…).

• Payment Information. Data about your billing address and method of payment, such as bank details, PayPal, credit, debit, or other payment card information 

• Transaction Information. Data about purchases of TLR services

•Usage Data. Data about your activity on and use of our offerings, such as performance and other diagnostic data; and other usage data

•Automatically Collected Information Information about your computer hardware and software may  also be automatically collected by TLR. For example, if you would like to subscribe as a Legal Counsel, we collect data on your professional background such as your qualification certificate and your experiences.

Data are used to perform the contracts entered into between Legal Consultants, Clients and the platform. This processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations.

• Process Your Transactions. To process transactions, TLR must collect data such as your name, purchase, and payment information.

• Communicate with You. To respond to communications, reach out to you about your transactions or account. From time to time, we may use your personal data to send important notices, such as communications about purchases and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with TLR.

• Communicate and exchange with other members using the platform. This processing is necessary for the performance of our respective contractual obligations and/or carried out with your consent.

• Comply with Law. To comply with applicable law, for example to comply with a lawful governmental request.

TLR’s Sharing of Personal Data

TLR does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

TLR servers are located in the United States. Your personal data is stored in various AWS regions, and replicated across regions for backup purposes. We take steps to protect your data and comply with the relevant data protection laws.

Otherwise, we do not transfer your data unless it is strictly necessary to comply with relevant laws.

Legitimate Interests and Users Consent

We occasionally process your personal information under the consent or legitimate interests’ legal basis. We use the consent and legitimate interests’ legal basis for processing all data given to us by Users in order to provide the services, and have identified that our interests correspond to legitimate interests of the user.

How long TLR keeps your data

TLR only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations.

Upon termination of a user account for any reason (such as account termination, nonpayment, or customer deletion of the account), all personal data received from that customer will be deleted in 1 week and all records purged after 30 days. This process is subject to applicable legal requirements. We do not delete or purge any information required for legal, contractual or accounting obligations.

Through email request they can have their profiles removed.

TLR reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time.
